For the time being, this website will be a window on my present projects, a portfolio of past projects, and day dreams on future projects and my surroundings. From the time of my exposure to art as a child at home, and growing up in Europe experiencing daily the great architecture and museums of France and Spain, to my brief stay in Brazil, I've always been curious about the arts.
I live in a beautiful location with my two black and white cats. I love the quiet life of Vermont. My house sits off a winding dirt road offering views of the Green Mountains in all directions. Through my window I hear the birds chirping, peepers peeping, and crows crowing: they are much more in tune than I am on my saxophone, still, I do find solace in playing blues and jazz. My cats don't seem to mind at all, but I suppose it's fortunate I have no neighbors.
Thoughts on Design
Good design can be found anywhere. Especially in Nature. When I design something I get my inspiration from Nature or from previously designed elements like architecture. The result should be pleasing to the eye and functional. Although inspiration is easy to find in Nature, you can also find inspiration in the most unlikely places, such as the back alleys of Broadway, as in the gritty Ash Can School of Art. Any piece has to be powerful. It can be powerful in its color, design, or size, but it can also be powerful in its daintiness.
It can all be boiled down to the following mission statement: Make a Statement without Uttering a Word, referring to a woman making an entrance while wearing a fabulous piece of jewelry.
